Privacy Policy

The short version. We ask for your email address so we can send you the files, and we don't sell it, rent it, or add you to a mailing list without asking. This site also runs the Meta Pixel, which tells Meta that you visited — section 8 explains exactly what that means and how to stop it.
1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What we collect
Your email address. Collected at checkout, used to deliver your download link and to reply if you contact us about your order.
Basic order details. What you bought, when, the amount, and an order reference — so we can verify a purchase, handle a refund request, and keep proper records.
Quiz answers, if you take the quiz. If you complete the lane quiz, we store the email address you enter, your first name if you give one, and which of the four lanes you scored. Your result is shown on screen, not emailed — the address is kept so we can contact you about the kit and new resources. Taking the quiz is entirely optional and separate from buying.
Browsing data, through the Meta Pixel. Visiting any page on this site sends data about that visit to Meta — see section 8. This happens whether or not you buy anything, and whether or not you ever give us your email.
We do not ask for your address, phone number or date of birth, and you don't need an account to buy.
3. What we never see
Payment is handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. Your card or banking details are entered on their system, not ours. We never receive, see or store your full card number, CVV or bank credentials. We only see that a payment succeeded, for how much, and against which order.
Your payment provider handles that data under its own privacy policy.
4. Why we are allowed to hold it
We use your email address to perform the contract you entered into when you bought the book — we can't deliver a digital product without somewhere to send it. We keep order records because tax and accounting rules require it.
The quiz mailing list and the Meta Pixel are different: neither is needed to deliver anything you bought. We rely on your choice to enter your email for the first, and on our legitimate interest in advertising the kit for the second. Section 8 explains how to refuse the pixel.
5. Marketing
Buying does not sign you up to anything. We will not add you to a newsletter or send you promotional email because you bought the kit. The only emails you get as a customer are your delivery, and notice of a free update to something you already own.
The quiz is the one opt-in. The quiz shows your result on screen immediately; the email address you enter is what puts you on a mailing list for occasional messages about the kit and new resources. That list is entirely separate from purchasing. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects your access to anything you have bought.
6. Who else touches your data
We share the minimum necessary with the services that make the sale work:
- Payment provider — processes the payment and issues refunds.
- Delivery and email service — sends your download link.
- Web host (Netlify) — serves this site and receives quiz submissions, which are stored in our account there until we export them.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — receives data about your visit through the Meta Pixel, as described in section 8. This is the one recipient that gets data from people who never buy anything.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone, for any purpose, ever. We only disclose data beyond the above where the law requires it.
7. How long we keep it
Order records, including the email address attached to them, are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require — commonly up to seven years. After that they are deleted. Support emails are deleted once the matter is closed and no longer needed as a record.
Data collected by the Meta Pixel is held by Meta on Meta's retention schedule, not ours. We cannot delete it for you — you would need to use the controls in your Meta account.
8. Cookies and the Meta Pixel
This site runs the Meta Pixel, an advertising tracker made by Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It is not a privacy-respecting analytics tool, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it.
What it does
The pixel loads on every page and sets cookies in your browser (principally _fbp). It sends Meta:
- the page you are on and the page you came from;
- your IP address, browser and device information;
- three events we ask it to record — that you viewed a page, that you submitted the quiz form, and that you clicked through to checkout.
It does not send Meta the email address or name you type into the quiz, or anything you enter at checkout.
What Meta does with it
If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, Meta can match this activity to it. Meta uses that to measure whether our ads work and to build audiences for future ads — including showing this kit to people who resemble our visitors. Once the data reaches Meta it is governed by Meta's own privacy policy, not ours, and we cannot delete it on your behalf.
Why it's here. We run ads to sell this kit, and without the pixel we cannot tell which ads lead to sales. That is a commercial reason, not a benefit to you — so here is how to refuse it.
How to stop it
- Use a content blocker (uBlock Origin, for example) or a browser that blocks trackers by default, such as Firefox or Brave. The pixel then never loads and nothing is sent.
- Adjust your off-Facebook activity and ad settings inside your Meta account.
- Browse in a private window, which discards the cookies when you close it.
Blocking the pixel does not affect the site. Every page, the quiz and checkout all work normally.
Other cookies
We run no other analytics or advertising trackers. Our payment provider may set cookies strictly necessary to complete a transaction securely; that happens on their pages under their policy.
If we add anything else that tracks you, we will describe it here before switching it on.
9. Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Order data sits with our payment and delivery providers, who maintain their own security controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of personal data we hold deliberately small — the best protection for an email address is not collecting anything else alongside it.
10. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you;
- correct it if it's wrong;
- delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it;
- send you a copy in a portable format.
Email spookydot200@gmail.com and we'll action it within 30 days. Note that deleting the email address attached to a live order may end our ability to re-send your download link.
These rights cover the data we hold — your order, your quiz entry, your emails to us. They cannot cover data Meta holds from the pixel, because we have no access to it. For that, use the controls in your Meta account, or block the pixel as described in section 8.
11. Children
This book and this site are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has bought the book, contact us and we will refund and delete the record.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing customers will be notified by email.
